TFCA Membership

The Texas Fire Chiefs Association (TFCA) serves the citizens of Texas by advancing the fire service through strong leadership, collaboration, and legislative advocacy, while upholding the highest ethical and professional standards. Now more than ever, your support ensures TFCA can amplify the voice of the fire service and advocate effectively during the Legislative Sessions.

How TFCA Represents You

TFCA is your advocate in many key areas, including:

  • State-level Involvement: Active participation in GETAC, the Texas Commission on Fire Protection, the Texas Municipal League, LODD Committees and Investigative Teams, the Texas A&M Municipal Fire School, and TIFMAS.
  • Legislative Representation: Monitoring and influencing legislation that impacts the diverse Texas Fire Service. The TFCA also represents the interests of the Texas Fire Service to our members in Washington.

Professional Development & Programs

The Texas Fire Chiefs Association has various activities for its members. As you know, we hold two annual Fire Chiefs Academies as well as a “fire chiefs only” workshop annually. Watch for the program called, the “Company Officer Symposium” which will bring together outstanding Company Officers and reinvigorate your Company Officer staff. Finally, we are launching a Volunteer/Combination Department Academy this year, and we continue to learn from each other through the Best Practices Recognition Program. We will wrap up the year by having a LODD Conference where we take a serious look at the challenges of changing the culture in the Fire Service. No small task.

New: Group Membership Option

We're excited to introduce a group membership option designed to help departments save money and simplify membership management. There are four levels available based on your department's number of sworn personnel. Your department's roster can be updated at any time throughout the year to keep membership records accurate and current.

If your fire department chooses not to participate in the group option, simply use the 'Join Today' button below to select your individual membership type based on your role within your department.

Group Membership Roster Updates

  1. Download the Group Member Form (excel).
  2. Use this form to add or remove staff from your department's roster at any time.
  3. Email completed file to [email protected].

Once received, the TFCA membership team will process the updates and send the main contact an invoice (if applicable).
